Toronto & Six Nations
February 2025
The ILC group’s first in-person reunion in Toronto was a two-day gathering that offered both professional development and cultural immersion. Day one provided a dynamic platform for networking and learning from business leaders through engaging leadership spotlights, hosted directly on Bay Street in Toronto. The highlight of day two was a deeply enriching trip to the Haudenosaunee community of Six Nations, where ILC members had the privilege of connecting with the community and hearing directly from local Indigenous leaders, gaining invaluable perspectives – both professional and cultural.
FNMPC Conference
April 2025
The ILC group attended the First Nations Major Projects Coalition (FNMPC) Conference in Toronto, a key event that gathered over 1,700 leaders from Indigenous nations, industry, government, and finance. ILC members had the opportunity to engage in discussions with CEOs and industry leaders, connect with Indigenous professionals from around the world, and meet academic and government leaders.
Siksika & Canmore
June 2025
For their third and final marquee gathering of 2025, the group traveled West to Calgary for two enriching days focused on culture and natural exploration. Members had the unique opportunity to dine with Indigenous business leaders in downtown Calgary, visit the Siksika Nation (Blackfoot), where they were welcomed in ceremony, learned about Siksika Nation’s history and contemporary business and governance issues, and attended the Siksika annual powwow. The trip culminated with a memorable hike in Canmore, led by an Indigenous guide who shared her deep knowledge of the land and our commitment to it as Indigenous peoples.
