Skawenniio Barnes
Trained as an attorney, Skawenniio Barnes (Kahnawake Mohawk) has spent her legal career practicing at the intersection of law and finance. She is currently a Partner at Finn Dixon & Herling LLP, a U.S. boutique law firm, where she represents private capital investors, and their portfolio companies, in their M&A and investment activities. She started her career in New York at Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP, an international law firm.
Outside of work, Skawenniio enjoys gardening, international travel, and spending time with her family and community. She is a lifelong learner and problem solver who is passionate about service and using her gifts to effect positive change.
Skawenniio received her J.D. from Harvard Law School, M.P.P. from the Harvard Kennedy School and B.A. from Yale University. She is originally from Kahnawake Mohawk Territory (near Montreal) and currently resides in Fairfield County, CT.
