Mark Podlasly

Mark Podlasly (Cook's Ferry Indian Band, Nlaka'pamux Nation) is the Chief Executive Officer of the First Nations Major Projects Coalition (FNMPC), a national Indigenous organization that partners with First Nations to secure ownership, equity, and decision-making authority in major resource and infrastructure projects across Canada.

He has guided FNMPC from an advocacy initiative into a nationally recognized force reshaping how Indigenous nations engage with the resource economy. Under his leadership, the Coalition has grown to 184 member First Nations — nearly one-third of all First Nations in Canada — and is currently supporting Indigenous involvement in 20 projects valued at over C$43 billion.

Mark chairs the First Nations (Pacific Trails Pipeline) Group Limited Partnership and serves as Trustee of the Nlaka'pamux Nation Legacy Trust. He sits on the boards of CIBC — where he became the first self-identifying Indigenous director in the bank's history — and Hydro One, Canada's largest electricity transmission and distribution provider. He is a Fellow at the Public Policy Forum of Canada.

In 2017, Mark was awarded the Governor General of Canada's Meritorious Service Medal for co-founding Teach For Canada — Gakino'amaage. He holds a Master of Public Administration from Harvard University and an ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors.
