Devan Legare

Devan Legare is a proud Métis finance professional and co-founder of Northern Light Wealth Inc., one of Canada’s only majority Indigenous-owned independent portfolio management firms. Based in Calgary, Alberta, Devan has built his career around the principle that financial knowledge and stewardship are powerful tools for strengthening families, communities, and future generations.

As a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CMA), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), and Chartered Investment Manager (CIM), Devan brings more than 15 years of experience in investment management, corporate planning, and fiduciary oversight. His vision for Northern Light was to create a boutique firm rooted in Indigenous values of stewardship and responsibility, while operating with the highest standards of governance under Canadian securities regulation.

Devan also co-founded the Indigenous Finance Collective, a national initiative dedicated to advancing Indigenous financial literacy and systemic inclusion. He serves on the board of the Financial Planners Association of Canada and contributes to the finance committee of Momentum, a Calgary-based community development organization.

Recognized with the IIAC Top Under 40 Award and CPA Alberta’s Early Achievement Award, Devan continues to bridge professional excellence with Indigenous leadership, working to ensure wealth serves as a foundation for resilience, opportunity, and shared prosperity.
