Benjamin Cooper-Janvier

Benjamin Cooper-Janvier is a Manager in MNP’s Financial Advisory and Indigenous Equity Opportunities practices and a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA). A proud Denesųłiné member of Cold Lake First Nations, Ben helps Indigenous communities and partners evaluate opportunities, structure transactions, and build sustainable financial capacity across the deal lifecycle.

Previously an Associate Director at a transaction-diligence firm, he supported 22+ private-equity engagements totaling $400M+ in enterprise value—serving buy-side clients ranging from billion-dollar funds to search funds—and led sell-side readiness alongside investment banks. Earlier in his career, he audited major Canadian energy companies (including one of the country’s largest integrated oil & gas firms) as well as junior energy and renewable companies.

Beyond M&A diligence, Ben provides CFO-style financial advisory to mid-market and Indigenous clients. He’s also committed to capacity building: he has taught a full post-secondary Financial Accounting course for Indigenous learners through the CPA Western School of Business. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce (with Distinction), a Master of Professional Accounting (MPAcc), the CPA designation, and is a CBV Candidate.

I also want to help foster genuine empathy between Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities. Mentors opened doors for me; I’m committed to doing the same for others.
